What is included with the entrance fee?
The entrance fee covers use of the entire sledding/tubing resort and groomed sledding/tubing runs for everyone in your vehicle.
Are your sledding runs machine groomed?
Yes, our Snocat operators professionally groom up to 15 sledding/tubing runs daily, snowpack permitting.
Can I bring my own equipment?
Yes, when it comes to equipment, we give you the choice – buy, rent, or bring. You can purchase or rent sleds and tubes from us, or you can bring your own to use. For safety reasons, metal and/or wooden sleds and snow bikes are not allowed.
What equipment do you rent?
We rent heavy duty tubes, plastic sleds, and helmets. We also sell sleds in our retail store.
When does your season start?
It varies from year to year based on snowfall. We are dependent on natural snow. We are typically open by the third week of December.
Do you take reservations?
We operate on a first come basis and do not take reservations. On the busy days and holiday periods during our season when we do reach capacity, we are always able to reopen throughout the day to allow more cars in. On busy days entry after 2:30 has typically always been available.
How do we get to the top of the sledding runs?
We have designated hike up lanes for you to walk up to the top of the sledding runs.
What should I wear for sledding?
We recommend snow bibs/pants, snow jacket, waterproof gloves, snow boots, and a helmet. We have these items for sale in the Adventure Mountain Sports Store.
Do you make snow?
Adventure Mountain is very limited on water and relies entirely on well water from a single well. The well does not provide enough output to make snow. Because Adventure Mountain is located at an elevation of 7,400 feet, there is not typically a need to make snow most winters. We appreciate you helping to conserve water while visiting.
Can I bring my dog?
Trained service animals are always welcome throughout the resort. Due to reasons of safety and hygiene associated with playing in and on the snow at our people park, beginning January 2019 we can no longer allow dogs, other than service animals, at Adventure Mountain. As partners in recreation with the USFS, we are not permitted as a dog park, and we thank you for understanding us working to keep Adventure Mountains’ snow content as safe and biohazard free as possible for you and your children.
Can I bring my own food into the lodge?
We have just recently put in a new outdoor patio with picnic tables for those bringing their own food to Adventure Mountain. We ask that you not bring outside food or drink inside of the lodge. Adventure Mountain Cafe is located inside of the lodge with limited seating, especially on busy days.
Can I bring a barbecue grill?
Small propane grills are allowed in the parking lot area only. Charcoal grills are strictly prohibited. Grills are not allowed on the lodge patio.
Do you allow snowboarding/skiing?
We do not allow snowboarding or skiing at our sledding, tubing, and snow play resort.
Do you offer overnight lodging at Adventure Mountain?
While we do not have onsite overnight lodging, South Lake Tahoe is just ten minutes away and offers a wide variety of lodging options.
Can I fly my drone at Adventure Mountain?
For the safety and welfare of guests below, we do not permit drones.
